Our History

It all started when a young man wanted an opportunity to help others as his profession.  That man's name was Vincent Glennon.  Grandfather of the current owner Martin J Glennon Jr.  Many years ago Vincent started an insurance agency.  Several years later when he was old enough Martin J Glennon Sr. worked alongside Vincent Glennon.  

Martin J Glennon Sr. took a hiatus from insurance refocused on the pursuit of a degree in bible ministry.  At that time he lived in Florida with his wife Lea (who works here now).  Together they had eight kids in total and the ministry life was not working for them yet.  Martin Sr. decided to come back to the insurance business and ran an insurance agency in Black Oak, Indiana.  In the 80's this was the only insurance agency in the whole area and the office won all kinds of awards.

A couple years after that Martin Sr decided to expand.  He opened up four more offices and it became a bit too much.  He decided to sell the one in Black Oak and focus on the other offices.  One office was operated out of the house the family lived in.  One office was in South Haven, Indiana right near South Haven Christian School off of Rt 6.

Angel Auto Insurance in Hobart and Angel Auto Insurance in Portage still remain to this day but now the one in Hobart moved to Central Ave in Portage in 2021 and is called Levi Insurance.  The Angel Auto Insurance that was located on Willowcreek Rd was operated by Jeremiah Glennon, Martin Sr's oldest son, from the beginning over 15 years ago and is now owned by another local couple. They moved the office to Route 6 next to the BMV in 2021.

The Hobart office has existed for over 25 years and when Martin Sr retired in 2014, he left the business in the care of Martin Jr.  This brings us to today, where Levi Insurance is still continuing to innovate and improve upon it's good 60 years reputation from the beginning!
